1.MECHANISM OF ACTION
P55-TNFR functions as a competitive inhibitor in the TNF signaling pathway. It mimics the natural extracellular domain of the membrane-bound TNFR1 receptor. By binding with high affinity to soluble TNF-α and TNF-β, it sequesters these pro-inflammatory cytokines, preventing them from interacting with their endogenous cell-surface receptors (TNFR1 and TNFR2). This blockade inhibits the downstream activation of the NF-κB and MAPK signaling pathways, thereby suppressing the inflammatory, apoptotic, and immunomodulatory effects mediated by TNF.
