1.MECHANISM OF ACTION
Sinapultide functions by mimicking surfactant protein B, integrating into the phospholipid monolayer at the air-liquid interface in alveoli. The cationic KL4 peptide interacts with anionic phospholipids, promoting adsorption and spreading to form a stable film that dramatically reduces surface tension during expiration, preventing alveolar collapse and improving lung compliance and oxygenation in surfactant-deficient lungs.
