1.MECHANISM OF ACTION
Vasodilation & Smooth Muscle Relaxation: In blood vessels and non-vascular smooth muscle (e.g., airways, GI tract), VIP activates adenylate cyclase, increasing cAMP. This relaxes smooth muscle, causing vasodilation, bronchodilation, and relaxation of the GI tract, reducing blood pressure and improving airflow.
